Our Learning Environment
The Service is a multi-storey, architecturally designed building, comprising of 2 large learning environment levels, reception, commercial kitchen, Educators programming and study room, multipurpose Atelier and music room and a basement for onsite parking.
The service also has a lift and ramp within for easy accessibility throughout the different levels.
Within our learning environments we ensure to provide the highest quality of all experiences and services to ensure that each child feels a sense of belonging and being. These include:
The ground level features 8 classrooms catering for children aged 0-3 years. Within these learning environments we have separated the learning groups into smaller groups to ensure the highest quality of care and education. The indoor classrooms will cater for children in the following configuration:
0-15 months old
2 classrooms, consisting of 8 children in each classroom.
15 months – 2 yrs old
4 classrooms, with 12 children in each classroom.
2-3 years old
2 classrooms, with 15 children in each classroom.
Surrounding these classrooms there are 2 large beautiful natural outdoor environments, consisting of natural elements such as rockery, water pumps, sandpits, vegetable gardens, outdoor pergolas and teepees and a chicken coop, and age appropriate resources to promote physical literacy and fundamental movement skills.
The first level features 6 classrooms catering for children aged 2-5 years. Within these learning environments we have separated the learning groups into smaller groups to ensure the highest quality of care and education. The indoor classrooms will cater for children in the following configuration:
2-3 years old
4 classrooms, consisting of 15 children in each classroom.
3- 5 years old
2 classrooms, one consisting of 20, the other consisting of 15 children*
The first level features 3 large outdoor learning environments, 2 of which are shaded entirely and are not subject to extreme weather conditions. The 3rd outdoor environment is located on the rooftop, where free open play is encouraged and will cater for larger group activities like extracurricular programs. This environment is shaded with large Fig Trees, bringing to the playground an element of natural shading and mirroring the Landscape of the Northern Beaches. These areas feature sandpits, tunnels, natural elements such as rockery, water pumps, sandpits, vegetable gardens, daybeds, mud kitchens, swings and drawbridges.
